I think the point with the Jesus Army is that they took beating children as some sort of commandment from god and made a virtue out of it.
Surely we should try to understand people rather than simply punish them, or perhaps thats just wishy washy stuff about forgiveness and loving your fellow man as you love yourself and treating others as you would want to be treated - oh yes thats what jesus said - bloody woolly minded liberal that he was.
Oh well - glad to see they still read the Telegraph in community houses, or perhaps they've graduated onto the Daily Mail
