Well, to be fair, while you refer to schizophrenia in this thread, Rina doesn't say that the JA called her schizophrenic. She says that they suggested that what she seemed to have was some kind of multi-personality thing going on. I agree that they were not qualified, but presumably if she had agreed to seek help, she would have received it from someone trained in the field. I remember the JA had two psychiatrists in my time and I know for certain that one of them was still there two years ago.

I am not qualified to diagnose, obviously, but even to the untrained person it is clear that the sorts of manifestations Rina was compaining of (rapes by evil spirits, pornographic visitations, telepathic communication with other members etc) does seem rather odd. If she had come to me with things like that, as she says she went to people in the JA, I think I would have suggetsted she needed help too.

Wouldn't you?

And if you did, would that not be the loving thing to do? I don't know why we have to interpret the JA's concern as "malicious", as you describe it.
