that all sounds very healthy, Billy.

maybe it wouldn't surprise you to hear that when I first left and started meeting former members like Nigel Lavender and John Everett, I felt I was meeting them as real people for the first time. It was like (in those days anyway) that the "putting to death of the old man" meant that nobody in the fellowship was a complete person anymore....and you only felt their humanity (their real character, interests, humour and WARMTH) when you met them outside.

People were so used to having to "check things out" before expressing a point of view or making a decision that they had stopped being whole people.

And I know this will make some say, "well that was the whole point. We weren't meant to have hobbies" but it is when you see people at play, playing football or whatever, that you can really get to like people for who they are.

I would rather be "liked" for who I am than "esteemed" for conforming
