He liked me too, I could tell, but I could see that he tried very hard to master his feelings. He would follow me around, and stand so close to me, sitting next to me so that our bodies were close, and it was so difficult for me. The touch of him, the sound of his voice, the smell of him made me feel weak inside. I think it was impossible for me to hide the way I felt about him, but I tried. Then, he would be very unkind to me, and was so humiliating to be treated like that in front of other people. But I realised why he was treating me in that way, and felt so sorry about it. It was agony being anywhere near him, because I knew that this was a forbidden relationship.

I told the elders how I felt, and was prayed over. But it was like walking on hot knives to be anywhere near that man.
