You are not in community

Non community members have always lived a less committed life. Indeed, looser models of membership were designed as a way of keeping people who were not willing to embrace a more disciplined (more extremely "covered") life.

The JAs who actually do appear on forums are almost invariably what some ex-members call "camp followers".

I often feel that camp followers are moved to be ardent defenders of more committed members by a sense of guilt at their own lack of commitment. A measure of their worldliness, for instance, is that they have loads of idle time and home access to the internet, while their committed brethren can only access the internet at work, where they are less under scrutiny of elders.

(on the subject of employees using the internet at work, I have to say that such people are cheating their employers and I am amazed that the church hasn't clamped down on this behaviour as unrighteous)
