Subject: Finale thoughts...briefly

It's a bleak morning to wake up and realize there's no more going into the Buffyverse, no place to see what gifts Joss has to give us this week.

Some very brief thoughts on the finale to follow: * I was dissapointed that Joss did not direct it. What a shame. I think Ilyaria is one of the best characters to come out of the Buffyverse - and hey, the name didn't hurt either *s* - I was totally satisfied with the finale, Angel went out like the hero he is times two, (giving up the Shanshu prophecy and taking out the black thornies). Great to see Gunn again - not that fool in the suit who sings Pirates of Penzance ditties, you know? I had been worried about Spike's role in all this and he stayed true to his self serving form and did not overshadow anyone else. The poetry reading scene and all it's refrences to his history were wonderful. Andy Hallet really played Lorne beautifully last night in the murder scene. Most importantly, I don't know if anyone caught the biblical refrence - "we are Legion, we are forever" (not verbatim). For those of you not up on the Bible there is a story somewhere in there of a Demonic being which Christ went up against (and my apologies if I am mistaken but I'm pretty sure about it). He cast the demon into a bunch of swine and when he asked them who they were they answered something like "Our name is Legion, for we are many and we are forever (or eternal)." So, it looks like (in my little theroy anyway) that the PTB was/were this/these same. *
