Subject: gameplay

We started talking about gameplay, more specifically buttons the player will have access to control the ego.

We thought about:
left/right : spin the ego left/right respectively
up: move forwards
down: move backwards

shift: allows running when pressed together with up or down. Allows strafing left or right together with left or right.

control: allows jumping up, forward or backwards (when pressed together with nothing, up and down, respectively).

for weapons, two buttons will cycle through the weapons available.
for items, two OTHER buttons will cycle through the items available.

There will be a button for attacking, which means use the weapon, and another button for using the selected item.

The shield is a special item, we need another button for using it.

I whounder about strafing! Can't we have two different keys allso that you can have to straf with and not only the skift + left/right!

What do you think about that?

I just supposed that since you can't actually strafe forward or backwards, the shift could be in charge of both running and strafing.

Shift should be for both strafing and running, I think. The other buttons sounds good.

The default of the player is running, so the shift will make him walk.

I believe I forgot to say about a button for ducking.

The strafe ability is now known as 'always target the enemy', so the player will run/walk always facing to an enemy. This can be done while pressing a button, or making this button toggle the option on and off.
That gives us another button. To cycle between the enemies so the player gets options when surrounded by enemies.

The behavior of the button is changeable in the options menu.

Or anyone can do this.
Let's agree on this topic or continue working on it. It's getting better the more we post.

If you can contine the documentation it would be good! I think we should try to get over to ICQ as fast as possible so we can work more effective!
