>>> "Is that in all markets or just the larger ones?"

Yes, it is in all U.S. markets. If you want to view the pay-per-view events, you will need an active phone line, otherwise electricity is the only utility required.

Note that other countries (like Canada) may not allow the U.S. networks and channels to be shown.

>>> "... I am a little nervous about mounting one on my metal tile roof."

You can mount the dish anywhere you have a southern view of the sky. Remember that the satellite is situated 24000 miles about the equator. Dishnet currently has seven working satellites in orbit. They serve different areas and different channels. The current dish sold by Dishnet can receive signals from two satellites simultaneously.

>>> "We have a guy who does Dishnet and one who does DirectTV. Are they about the same?"

No, but they were almost the same. They attempted a merger earlier this year, but the U.S. government is about to tell them to go to hell.

>>> "As for Sci-fi, I share Rob's annoyance with them."

Yes, there is much to vilify SciFi channel for, but I am still glad they exist. They show much that we would never see otherwise and they have taken some risks, such as "Exposure".
