On the other hand, there is a grain of truth in the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were not uncomfortable taking tea with Hitler.

Conversely, they are isolated examples - especially since Edward was in fact forced to abdicate, which rather suggests that the system works fine - and of course Edward was, to put it kindly, a bit dim.
