My ancestors were Scots, so the suggestion of bigotry sounds like nonsense to me. The whole idea of the Federal Commonwealth Society is that we don't see each other as foreigners. Whether we be from Queensland, Scotland, New Zealand or Newfoundland, we are all part of the same family.

I was merely pointing out that spelling Australian English phonetically and using slightly different grammar and vocabulary does not make it a distinct language. I find it comical, is all.

Even if you speak The Queen's English it is not spelled phonetically, so why attempt to spell it phonetically for other dialects? Are we so patronising as to suggest that people outside MFB (that's Mayfair, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury to you scumbag provincials) are so stupid that they can not be expected to understand language which is not "spelled the way it sounds" as we can? In my opinion, that is the height of prejudice: insisting that people who speak regional dialects are unable to spell properly is narrow-minded and snobbish.

Nah mate - you're missing the point. We were each having a laugh at our own stereotypical dialects, no-one else’s.

...for reasons which should be perfectly obvious, as I am a member of this society.
