My study of American foreign policy leads me to believe that the inclusion of the US in any quasi-formal structure would inevitably lead to its ruin. Understand that in every instance that the US has been involved in a multilateral endeavour it has been with one precondition - that they be the lead nation. An FCS, as it has been defined in this forum, would be rejected by the US Senate because it would not be afforded a veto over FCS decisions. If anyone can explain to me how one would constitute a grouping of states where each is considered of equal status, and yet only one exercises the prerogative of a veto, then I would be most interested. The Anglosphere will never be a "Union of English-speaking peoples". In my humble opinion, and after much research, if there ever is an Anglosphere it will be a Commonwealth / United States partnership where each party is free to exercise its own autonomy if needed...
