] Date Posted: 04:04:03 11/23/04 Tue I will have the updated memberships done by late Tuesday and after having a look at them briefly, I see a few Americans who support us. We have FCS UK, Canada and Australia. Why don't we set up an FCS International branch for non-Crown Commonwealth members and supporters. After all, every little bit helps and I want these people to feel very welcome and not like outsiders looking in. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 15:59:42 11/23/04 Tue I've raised it with a few of Kiwis, and have had mixed responses. One woman, whom I suspect of being a whale-hugging Kiwi of the sort who only calls New Zealand "Aro Te Aroa" or whatever it is, hit the roof and started talking about the massacre of the Borioboola-Ga Tribe or some such thing and concluded that any connection with Britain was best forgotten. Another said that it was a good idea, provided that it was led by the USA. And another - my personal favourite - shrugged and said that a federal union of English-speaking countries was probably inevitable anyway, and therefore saw no reason to do anything about it, so gizza beer, mate, and we'll get on with this bun-fight and not pack a wobbly about it, etc... I suppose that, so long as New Zealanders show any tendency to vote for that Clarke disaster, not much headway will be made there. But I wonder how many FCS members there are in total these days? Any idea? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
