] Date Posted: 16:59:10 11/23/04 Tue I read with great interest in this morning's National Post that a Quebec Senator, Serge Joyal, has spent thousands of dollars of his own money to acquire missing portraits of past monarchs of Canada, both British and French, for the Senate hall in the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. He noticed that there were large gaps in the collection of paintings of British monarchs and none of the previous French monarchs. He has since gone all over the world and has acquired 14 portraits of the French monarchs and some of the missing British successors. Not bad for a Quebecer, even if his prime motive was to collect the French ones. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
