] Date Posted: 22:01:44 11/14/04 Sun In reply to: Ed Harris (London) 's message, "The Tory Party has finally gone completely bonkers." on 00:29:33 11/14/04 Sun It's certainly a bit over the top, when you consider what a member of the Government has to do to be sacked, if only temporarily. With so much evidence on his side, including the endorsement of the article by the Mayor of Liverpool and half of the city's local press, why else would he not just tell Howard to get stuffed? I reckon that Howard said, "Now, Johnson, off you toddle up north to apologise to these blighters, hehe, and if you look ridiculous then you shouldn't have let that article get into your magazine [cackle cackle, rub hands]." There is none so malicious and backstabbing as a Tory - I know, since I have been involved in the party since I was five, being taken canvassing in the 1987 election and in every election since, from European up to local up to national level. They say that two Tories is an argument, and three is a conspiracy. There's a lot in that. Still, Deus dabit his quoque finem... [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 12:48:42 11/15/04 Mon Endless Tory intrigue has always been one of the most irritating things about the party as far as I’m concerned. They even conspired to remove a leader who won three consecutive elections! Felix qui potuit rerum cognoscere causas... [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
