What we do not know yet are the rules regarding the interpretation of the vote. A simple majority should not be enough to impose a new constitution on us (especially if there is a low turnout). It has to be a clear majority of the electorate voting in favour. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 16:29:08 01/26/05 Wed If that is the question which is actually asked of the British electorate (but don't bet on it), I and almost everyone else whom I know will be voting 'no'. Well, except for a few token lefties who think that French labour laws are a good idea, but most of them are half-European anyway. I haven't seen any recent polls, but I can't imagine that support for this Euro-contstitution is even as much as 20% in the UK. Does anyone have recent figures? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
