] Date Posted: 14:21:04 11/06/04 Sat This coming week, I will be revising the Commonwealth History page to remove the animated maps and replace them with still maps of various intervals in history from 1650 to the present day. There will be a map of the British Empire with all of the countries named at a certain point in the timeline on the left and the equivalent comparison with other empires at that time on the right. So you can see what Britain had at a certain time and then next to it you can see what other powers had at that time. I have decided NOT to post the map of the unification of the British Isles because it is too controversial and is likely to bring more nationalist objections. However, all of this is purely from an historical standpoint to show how we got to where we are now. It is not meant to make any political or cultural statement. The main point of this historical page is to show how the ties with Britain and the Dominions came to be, not how Britain itself came to be.
