Now that Arafat has passed away. What do you guys think, is it a step forward, or a step back in the peace process. Or is it any step at all?

ya sorry about that, while the President was giving his first press conference yesterday, a reporter told him that Arafat had died, and I was stupid enough to believe it. So sorry about that one. But we can still discuss the topic. What are your feelings on Arafat, and is it a step forward for the peace process, or a step back?

The ambitions of the hardliners in each camp are mutually exclusive. In this climate, where compromise is almost impossible, I’m afraid I cannot see a solution to the Israel/Palestine question any time soon.

Call me cynical, but there has been too much water under the bridge as they say.

Peace in Northern Ireland came about because the people themselves were fed up with the violence, and communities on both sides were suffering. The same situation exists in the Middle East in a much larger scale. However, the extremist still have much support amongst their communities.
