... He actually chopped and changed the spellings deliberately, in a pretentious attempt to demonstrate the ineffectiveness of translitteration, as shown in a letter from him to his editor. When reading that book of his, and discovering such characters as Zhobeir, Sobayr, Zopaer and Subheyr, it took me a while to work out that these were in fact the same person, and the eerie similarities between their actions and personalities were in fact quite easily explained!
