Tim,

It takes time to become fully comfortable with using the same swing with all of your irons. It is just a natural tendency to try and swing harder with the #3 iron than the other clubs but this will correct itself over time. The same is true with the LW as it is the natural tendency to try and scoop the ball with this high-lofted iron. Again, this will correct itself over time and you will learn to hit down on the ball as you do with the rest of the irons within the set. The key is to use exactly the same swing, ball position, etc. with all of the irons.
