Subject: Why isn't there a 15-degree iron?

Hello everyone,

First off, I really love my Blackstones iron. The 19-degree iron is my new favorite club. It's just amazing how easy it is to hit it far.

But this got me thinking: Why isn't there a 15-degree iron? I prefer the look of an iron over a fairway wood.

I guess the 3-wood is simply superior to an iron.
But why is a 19-degree iron better than a 5-wood?

Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you very much!

Frankly, very few golfers would be able to hit a 15º iron with any consistency. The #5 wood should produce the same distance as our 19º iron. The only difference is shot dispersion. With a fairway wood you aim, basically, for the width and depth of a green whereas with an iron you aim for the pin.
