Subject: 1iron 5 snd 7 woods first range session.

Decided to go through my 1 iron clubs range session.
Proline line irons very good trajectory and distance is good for me, DH driver working out a swing change but great results, hooks are gone.

5 and 7 woods not so great. Making center contact I can see the impact marks but just dead. No feel at all. I don’t know if it’s the shafts or head.

Ran back home got my ping G410 4 snd 3 hybrid and my 5 wood. Hot faces crushing them easily pass the 1irons Woods. Note Ping Graphite stiff stock shaft.

Went back to the 1iron woods same thing. Dead face.
Going to give them another 3 range sessions, for now I cannot put them in the bag. Hitting straight to a baby draw no direction issues. Slight divot do contact is good.

Any thoughts from any one.???

Pedro,

As in my previous reply, try sweeping the ball as opposed to hitting too much down on it through impact. I think that you will see the difference.

I tried what you suggested, I was pretty much sweeping all the time, with excellent center of contact on the face.

I still attribute the lack of feel and distance to the head and shaft combination. I think the head is a dead head has very little spring to it. I don't believe the steel shaft is helping. The total weight of the club is a bit heavy
I am going to have to try something drastic and install graphite shafts.

again the driver is excellent and so are the irons. The woods are not working out. I am placing them on time out,
lucky I still have my Ping 4 hybrid and strong 5 wood until I can sort out the 7 and 5 wood.

I had one of the teaching pro's who I take lessons from try them to see if it was me. He loved my driver and irons. I didn't say anything about the the woods just try them and let me know what you think. Bare in mind he is open minded
and does not care about set make up, brand etc.

he asked me if these are broken? something wrong with them?. but again he hit them dead straight and high. but short.
he described them as I did. dead feeling and no spring.
