The sharp noise had woken her from her half-sleep on the couch. The window was still open. The chilly air was gliding in and grasping her bare legs. The clothes that she had worn over the past few days were now wrinkled and worn thin. Only a few hours past had she found the last remaining shred of evidence that Discord had once been in these rooms, this apartment, this space, together with her. His usual jacket felt large around her as valda stood as took a cautious step towards the door. A small paper slid like tumbleweed across the hardwood floor, making the whole scene feel like a western drama. The fae stepped around the grey couch and arrived just one step closer to the entrance way. Someone was waiting for her to open the door. Standing there, outside, waiting for valda to open the door and reveal herself. Discord?! He mind raced. But, why ever would he return? Nah. T'was not her partner in crime. Kael, maybe? This was a possibility, though an unikely one. Was her brother on the other side of a wooden door, impatiently waiting to kill her? With another step, she was in front of the lock. The small peep hole was a little above her eye level, but she dare not look into it. Moving a tiny fragile hand, she unlocked the door with an almost silent click. "It's open." And with that, she stood back.
