Living in a growing community you should expect increases in the amount of through traffic in Aurora each year. When we moved here 4 years ago 8 cars at the Wellington/Yonge traffic lights was considered a traffic jam. Now there are REAL traffic jams during the rush hour.... well, not a rush "hour" any more, but like Toronto, a rush "2 hours" and growing.

I no longer do my grocery shopping in the downtown core, as it is too painful. Instead we shop at Sobeys, Loblaws or the new Dominion at Mulock - all of which have easier in/out access and less traffic to contend with.

In fact we are so unhappy with the rash of urban sprawl that has hit Aurora with a thump, that we are actively looking to move east of the 404, to a small town that has a 10 year limited growth plan - unlike Aurora, who did have a growth plan that was shot out from under council's feet by having the huge high density/low cost housing estates being built around the outskirts of what was once a lovely little town.

Also, since the high density housing went in, I have noticed a distinct drop in the service I get in the local grocery stores, with bored, disinterested kids being allowed to service tills. A year ago that kind of attitude would have got the staff fired.... Aurora is getting a little more like Toronto each month....
