Yone & Wellington Sts have always been a problem for the town of Aurora. When I lived there we had a number of accidents at the intersection, including myself. The earliest accident was about 1910 when the first motor vehicle came 'a visiting' and resulted in the first fatal hit-and-run. The very young girl had just come out of Cousins Ice Cream Parlor with her family when the car veered into her. If my memory serves, she was of the Rose family, who lived east of G. W. Williams S.S. and there may still be members of her family living in Aurora.

I forget the name of the road that Dr. G. W. Williams sits on, but at Yonge St it was the site of many accidents and often the townsfolk called for a set of lights. It wasn't until until the summer of 1973 that lights were put in becasue two of my friends were hit by a car while crossing Yonge to attend Dr. G.W's summer recreation program.

I don't think it's the actual intersections that are the problem, but the way people drive. Everyone is in such a rush to get to point B or C and there has certainly been in decrease in courtesy over the decades.
