While I did not do any web research on the topic I do let my own eyes tell me what the world things in their daily lives.

And when I go to the grocery marekt in my part of the coutnry the prepared/prepacksted chicken, beef and poultry sections very easily take up more space than the meat market. AND the usual store may have a few exotic fish species they have a tendency to focus on the more 'common' species such as catfish, and other species when in season--crawfish, etc.

So I take your subject line to be absolutely correct because if the average joe 6 pack american is anywhere near like the people down here MEAT comprises the vast majority of their diet.

I guess SOMEONE has to be eating all that fish if it is not us.
