Knowing that every day changes with the rising and setting of the sun
The feeling of growing older not wiser over the years
And that the world is not a happy place we thought when young
Having lived through all the heartache, and tears

The changes come without so much as a knocking at the door
Like strangers selling tomorrow without a guarantee
While today we talk of good times and how they were before
As life passes by all the things we couldn't be

Some things seem to never change in this ebb tide of the new
As the friendship of another always has its place
Knowing that someone will always have their point of view
I feel the comfort of the smile on your face

One day the light in our eyes will fade from each to the other side
With captured memories we hold will never end
And the person I recall, how completely warm you were, I cried
Having lived your life as my friend
