I'm not sure whether appearance is the most important thing that gets passed on. I think in terms of being successful the important thing is for the new people to see what it's possible to achieve in the 2 or 3 years they have on the university circuit, and how it can be done.

If you have a video of your top dancers from 3 years prior when they were a hopelessly uncoordinated beginner, that's a real incentive to the new lot (and we had a number of prime examples in Oxford ;) ).

Saying that, it's still useful if you have someone around to tell you where to get a good shirt from, whether/how to put on fake tan, etc. etc. I just think that keeping a good team spirit and attitude towards training and competing over the generations is more important...
