Fair point. I think that's what the club is really important for, encouraging some people to take up competitive dancing. The earlier in the year it happens, the better.

Have you thought of creating a seperate "Team" that effectively is run by itself? This is what tends to happen in ImpOxBridge i think. Even the Beginners have a special "Beginners Team" class in Oxford where things are taught faster and a bit more oriented towards competitions than in the social classes.

It's good for the team because you know what you want and need to do, and it's good for the club as it's great publicity and inspiration to new peope.

Anyway, I'm surprised the club committee would be so anti-competitive dancing after your successes of last year. Well, good luck with it all anyway, and i'm sure you'll be along to a few comps yourself, no?
