He had woken up when Cassie had been roused by their daughter, but he hadn't stirred - instead just feigned sleep while he listened to his little family in the rest of the apartment getting all ready for their day. Only when he heard the door close behind them did he slip out of bed - padding through the now empty place towards the kitchen in search of coffee before disappearing into the bathroom to shower. It had been only a few hours since his last shower, but he still felt unclean, so he took his time in the hot water, then shaved, pulled on some boxers and black sweats, and then crawled back into bed to doze until he was woken again by the sound of his family returning. She laughed as Josiah loudly proclaimed, "Did it!!!" when he got the puzzle piece in correctly and then smiled at Kesi when she laughed at something on the cartoon she was watching. Sometimes she felt like she was to young to be a mom, sometimes she was overwhelmed but it was so great to hear her kids happy, having fun, laughing...it was one of the best feelings in the world. She loved when Kesi's face lit up when she got praised, when Josiah looked so proud when he accomplished something new...it was just a really good feeling.
