I know I have been absent for a while, but work has been crazy, thus being there right now. I will say this, we will not win an important game until Kyle gets it.

I was unfortunate enough to witness the slaughter. I can safely say it was the worst performance I have seen in my four years at SCU. It makes me wonder how St. Mary's went from one of the worst teams in the nation three years ago to beating us by a combined 62 points this year. Howell's presence was definitely missed down low, especially on defense as Dennison had a very difficult time guarding St. Mary's bigs. Rohe and Legge also did not play because of injuries, which hurt. The entire game was characterized by a lot of missed shots, both open and contested (28% from the field, 2-19 from the 3 point line). The offense was very stagnant and it made St. Mary's look like a much better team (which they probably are). Regardless, I hope the Broncos can get things together next week so they have some semblance of momentum heading into the tournament. If not, DD will have reason to worry about his job security.

I did not see this game, but these results are not acceptable. The program has sunken into mediocrity (average talent and underperformance), and it's becoming more apparant that it's time for a change.

I really like Dick Davey a lot. I honestly hope he turns it around but looking at the schedule, it may be too late. We will lose at Gonzaga, and the road game at Portland (likely a loss too) will be inconsequential. A tournament miracle is looking highly unlikely. What's the new format by the way, does the 7th place team (i.e., us) even make the tournament?

ok so I got it wrong .... the Tourney DOES NOT re-seed ....

but if we finish 5th it probably works out the same ....
I would rather be in the USD/USF/GON side of the bracket

than the POR/LMU/PEP/SMC side .....

go Luck ... and I do mean LUCK to the Broncs in the PNW ...
thank God ??? ... Portland is 1st ....

When and where are the 1st round games played? As part of the tournament or mid-week road games? Thanks for the info.

[> [> Re: Who saw the debacle? -- Bronco66, 19:19:38 02/22/04 Sun

ok ... it was ... a case for anger management classes ...
other than Travis and Doron we need some ....

early on the shots were not dropping ... they were going in ... they just were not staying there ... I know there is no stat for ring and outs but it was happening to EVERYONE on the south end of the floor I would LOVE to see that stat ... and to think we were ONLY 9 down at the half it was amazing (and that includes 4 layup misses the 1st half) .... so the Broncs if anything lost heart I think ... but not until after 3:30 into the 2nd half when the Broncs had gotten it down to a 5pt margin ...

then it just went ... and the ability to to come back on SMC (or just about anybody) just is not there ... the "killer" mentality (with the exception of Travis and Doron) is just not there ... (at least that's what I see)

Denison is supposed to have great hands
(and some say played decently at Ore. [16pts 7-9 FG & 2-3 FT 0 Rbs in 18 min] )

but didn't show it last night ... and I hear he Knows he has to hit the weights this Summer ... and ???

the best blind pass I saw all night was from Travis on a fast break ... this is not something the Broncos do well ... and penetrate and kickout ... that would have helped (if we could have sunk a shot) ...

I don't know if the Broncs just aren't concentrating or what ... I know its got to be tough for DD now with the situation with his Daughter-in-law ... my heart and prayers go out to him and his family ... I wouldn't blame him for just packing it in ... but my guess is that the Broncs will at least defy a litte history ... and win a couple of games on the home court in the tournement ...

at least we beat USD once (and at home) and then??? Pepp??? ... and then one last time at the ZAGS ??? ....

you are right ... Kyle has to start being the big time player again ... and it would help if Mr. Denison gets a litte aggressive ...

right now I'd trade any and all wins for Kathleen Davey's return to health ... and I am sure Dick and all the Broncos would too ...
