Subject: Recruits,Free Throws, and MSU fans

First off, Major Props to the MSU posters who visited the SCU board. What a classy group of fans: knowledgeable, and great sports. Good luck for the rest of the season and best wishes for a turnaround on the gridiron, too.

For those who saw the game, although the loss is very dissapointing, did we see improvement and some encouraging signs from the effort agaisnt a very good team? We seem to be shooting the ball better (except at the line-see below) than last year. Any silver clouds?
That being said, how does anyone shooot 1 for 9 from the line? Hopefully, this doesn't hae a hangover effect. UMBC is a very beatable team, but the Broncos are gonna have to show up emotionally, and hit their frees.

On the recuit front, Mitch Henke followed up his 34 point effort with 25 points in a win over the 10 ranked Minn. AAA high school. The competitiion there seems to be pretty good; his former class mate, Kris Humphries has made a quick and impressive transition to D1 ball with the Gophers (of course being a Mc D's All American helps). Brody Angley is back and slowly working himself back in to b-ball shape. His coach is slowly increasing his playing time to accomodate his condidtioning and the hammy. He scored 10,15,and 22 points in the first 3 games since his return. Both also appear to be able to hit a decent percentage of their free throws.

let's just hope the Broncos find a way back to making FT's
two UGLY games in a row where FT's could/should have made a difference ...

thank JCard for the updates ...

Mitch Henke is quickly emerging from one very large shadow at Hopkins High. The six-foot six-inch senior was rarely noticed last season when Kris Humphries & Dan Coleman played for the Royals.

But now Henke's the guy, and last week he played like it. Mitch scored 28 points in one game — 22 in another in leading Hopkins to a pair of wins.

Henke's a diverse player with both perimeter skills and post-up ability. He also loves defense.
