Re: '06 Any info on Peidmont Hill's Aaron Buckner -- SCU06, 21:03:07 02/06/05 Sun
Definately not a D1 player, good hs player, team plays in a weak league and he is the only one who can play at Peidmot so his stats are inflated. On rivals it has Santa Clara looking at 4 pgs. Two 2 star prospects and 2 that don't have any stars.

Listened to the archieved "DD Show"; while being appropriately cryptic (per NCAA rules), Davey said they recruited another guard and were looking at trying to get a Juco guard who can step in. I know they were looking at HS senior Omar Leary from Oregon (I think.)
Calvin Johnson is supposed to be talented and expected to contribute early, but replacing Bailey and KB will put a lot of pressure on the backourt. Hopefully Johnson, Angley, and Rohe can get some help and step up. A little added weight and agressiveness from Denison would help too.

Leary is a 2 star listed prospect and he is 5-10 155. He has USD, Bosie St and us listed in his top 3 but so far no one has offered him.

Re: recruitment of Shiller -- WCC fan, 11:57:14 01/07/05 Fri
From a rather reliable source, I understand that SCU simply stopped recruiting Shiller. No idea why.

Re: Yo '06-- Sammet's team mate, Junior Russll -- RUFFRIDER, 16:35:13 02/12/05 Sat
JUNIOR RUSSELL is a great high school point guard who cannot shoot and will over penetrate versus other good players. He looks great against under skilled kids in the Santa cruz league, but cannot dominate guys who can actually play and handle the basketball like at the Division Level. No one would guard him in college and he would be a constant penetrater looking to pass all the time (think, way smaller Jason Gaines from USF)
