Don't want to depress you current students who think things like this will never happen... but eventually wives and kids do happen in this life... and thus roadblocks to attending games occur. Oh, one gets around them, but they do exist.

Thus for me, Thu night games are problematic - because OK, this is gonna be REALLY depressing, but that's a school/work night. Can't take the kids, up too late. Can't go myself, cuz that's no fun.

So I too will be there, but only for LMU on Sat - talk about a perfect kid game, btw.

And you know, I'd stop by and say hello, but they don't let us cheapass alums who sit in GA down into your section.

GO BRONCOS!

Don't let the Staffpro Ushers prevent you from coming to chat. After tip-off anyone can enter the section. If they give you any hassle, tell them that you are coming to see me (tell them that I am RR president, that's how they know me)- I work in the athletic department as well, so it should't be a problem.

Well cool. If I get to take the kids on Sat, we shall stop by if at all possible.

Man we need to keep up the good mojo... no stumbles before the tourney... Of course long time fan me, I've kinda had pessimism beaten into me, so I expect us to lose every game.. but man it's tough not to get the hopes back up after the SMC win.

Of course it doesn't matter really... we have 4th place pretty much locked... it would be nice to get 2nd, but we need another SMC loss for that... and there's no difference between 3rd and 4th really. So these games in the scheme of things don't matter that much....

But damn it would be nice to string together some wins. I'd have to guess that if we win out, we at least get on the NIT radar screen. Bailey deserves to play in a post-season game.

Bragging rights ... and a possible NIT as backup birth

actually there is a difference ... 4th probably plays GU in semi-final and SMC in final .... vs....

3rd ... which plays SMC in semi and the ZAGs in the final ...

2nd is the same as third ... except you wear the White Jerseys ...

just WIN BABY !!!

I agree with you Tom, Kyle does deserve to play in the post season...especially after he carried our boys against SMC! I can personally vouch that his game is ON! I was shooting around with him tonight and he was hitting everything from behind the arc..three feet back no problem! He's ready for the last stretch of hte conference season and the challenge of the tournament. See you all tomorrow and saturday as we defend home court! GO BRONCOS!

Very cool re Kyle. Man he has carried us in SO many games... really been a warrior for so darn long... and overcome such adversity... well, like Brian Jones before him, he deserves to play in a post-season game, as I say. Here's hoping it happens. The old-man pessimist in me says he (and we) shouldn't hold our breath... but hope springs eternal.

Now as for the difference between 2nd-3rd-4th, well... I am well aware of the potential opponents. I'm just not sure it's a benefit to be playing SMC again over Gonzaga. Do you REALLY think we have a better chance against SMC for the 3rd time? I don't. In the two games against them, the first they played awful, the second we played GREAT. Seems to me a repeat of either of those things - which would be required to beat them - is damn unlikely. Also the law of averages is against us... they are physically better than us, you can't deny it... so beating them a third time, well... I don't see it. Then contrast to the home game against Gonzaga, where we really didn't play that well, shot horribly, but damn near beat them anyway... and I'm not sure we wouldn't rather play the Zags in the semi. Remember too the Zags will have nothing to play for really... oh, their seed could be impacted by a loss, but that's nothing compared to playing for you tournament bid lives, like the Gaels will be.

Hell I don't want us to have to play either of them, to be honest. But surely we will... so to me, there's no huge difference either way.

So that's why I say 3rd/4th is unimportant.

Now if we can get 2nd, that is HUGE obviously because it gives us the extra bye. But we need an extra SMC loss for that. Oh, it could happen, but again I am not holding my breath.

The main thing is we need to win just to keep winning, get a swagger, get over this horrid inconsistency that has plagued us all year long. Take a winning streak in the tourney, and then we can really get excited.
