Subject: Bronco II electric 4X4 won't engage

I just recently acquired a 1990 Ford Bronco II with a 2.9L V6. It has 2 electronic 4X4 activitation switches on the dash (4X4 and Low). These worked fine when I got the truck, but of course I wanted to clean things up a little and I steamed the engine and up under the chasis around the trannie. Also, since the clutch pedal was making friction noises when I pushed it in, I also sprayed a little WD40 on the clutch shaft under the dash that goes throught a plastic sleeve (I think this is a switch that won't let the truck start without the clutch being in). Now the 4X4 won't engage. Any clues where to look or how to test. I'm assuming a relay got fried or the little motor on the front transaxle is shorted.
