Adding those age groups will sort out any and all issues with “stylistic” difference between dancers who started as children and those who started as adults. Additionally, this would standardize all competitions and qualifiers across ALL regions and allow EVERY dancer, regardless of age, to have an opportunity to qualify for national and world championships. Right now, adult dancers are faced with either competing against children at local feises or forever limiting the level they can compete at if they want to compete against dancers their age.

So many adult dancers at our school feel like their Oireachtas championship is a “fake” competition because it doesn’t afford any progression or formal qualification. Why should these dancers miss out on a world championships?

Masters has so many problems that I won’t even get started on it. It’s another dead-end age group that benefits no one.
