Former Triggle family here… training is strong and has become more multi-faceted with addition of cross training and Chloey Turner support for mental health. Dan’s personality and teaching style is fairly strict and to the point. You won’t get a lot of hugs and comfort. Some dancers thrive under that approach, others need more flexibility and a softer manner. Neither is better, just what works for your child. Dan is a strong proponent of moving dancers up as they qualify for next levels. Ex…he’s not going to keep you in prelim if you’ve gotten your wins to move to Open. Other schools take that whole darn year and don’t make space for others to move up, just sit at the top of the box. Dan has always believed that if you’re good enough to win, you’re good enough to move up and that you’re going to compete against them at O’s anyway. We appreciated that for our dancer, but it was difficult to have your dancer be one win away from Open repeatedly getting 2nd to a dancer who’d already won several and should have moved up. That said, that’s about other schools, not Dan.
