It is close to Christmas so some aren’t competing yet and some just wait to sign up. Also I think initially the venue was not confirmed so people were hesitant to sign up. As much as you feel the need to take a stand some areas have very few feis opportunities and Pacific Northwest is one of them. If we let the little comps die out there will be nothing left. Maybe that is what you want but not everyone feels that way. While some areas have a separate boys competition Pacific Northwest does not so it makes no difference what you identify as so it is an inclusive space for everyone ….your issue was your qualifier
