Subject: Pattern license; good on theory, bad in practice

Someone did not consider the costs of licensing patterns.
- You will need a team to register the patterns and cross-check against existing licensed patterns no0t not mention the challenge of making the subjective determination of how different is different enough not to violate license
- Thene there is the cost of reviewing appeals every time someone disagrees with your subjective determination
- Then you have the cost of enforcement ensuring everyone is using only their licensed pattern.
- Then there is the cost of litigation against people who violate licensed patterns.
- Then there is the cost of defending litigation for failure adequately enforce and defend someone's paid license.
