Subject: Irish dance is an atypical sport, a transgender girl gave up her advantage, no?
In reply to: Enough 's message, "Time for the boy who has caused many girls in his age group to quit, goes back where he belongs." on 12:35:37 02/06/25 Thu

In addition to the ugly culture war waging here, can I just ask the obvious pragmatic question? Being a male Irish dancer is a big advantage, isn't it? There are a fraction as many with what - 1 male for every 10 female?

So this turns the usual argument on its head, no? This trans girl would have an easier career in Irish dance competing against Boys, and is on the path she is on because of the nature of her gender, not in effort to gain some weird advantage.

What am I missing? It's *harder* to win against the vastly larger talent pool in the girl's events, isn't it? Why traumatize this child?

As an aside, while Irish Americans often skew conservative, the modern Irish citizens are far, far to the left of that. It's strange. How many of you "identify" as Irish? Aren't you really American?
