I know how mean ID parents can be. My daughter made prelim less than two years after starting dancing at age 13 (with limited local competitions with large lines). Her teacher made her stay in prelim the entire year. She won every prelim competition she danced in that year, and the parents were horrible to her and me because their daughters were being blocked by her wins. My answer was that if they can't beat her in prelim, they don't deserve to be in open. I say the same thing about the trans girl. I guess it's easier to complain or quit than to do the work necessary to win.
