You guys are lucky that I was able to get on the internet 2 days in a row (It was mostly to check my football picks and affirm that I won the week for the 3rd time this year...)

Anyway, on to the discussion.

Don't suggest that I elaborate on a particular issue if you don't want brutal, opinionated, honesty. In the last 9 years, have I ever given you less? Spout off all you want about anything you want, but I'll continue to tag you if you're off base.

My point, albeit possibly unclear, was that this forum (not necessarily JOC as a whole) has become nothing more than regurgitations of yellow journalism. Given enough spare time, I too could watch Fahrenheit 9/11 and Alan Colmes (IAN) or read the Drudge Report (LOU). Given even more spare time, I could also spew out these irresponsibally one-sided opinions on an internet forum. If I had more time than that on my hands, I would run for president.

Only hearing one side of an issue does nothing but confuse people. The most dangerous person is one who's confused and doesn't know it. Take the "draft" issue for example. The left says the Right wants to reinstate the draft. The Right says the Left sponsored the bills in Congress so they must want the draft. IT WAS A JOKE PEOPLE! No one wants to reinstate the draft. Neither side hears what the other is saying, so the Left and Right will continue to believe their respective assumptions. I said that your partisan banter was "uninformed". I should have said "underinformed". It blows my mind that the West Virginia "Republicans" that I serve with think that Kerry only wants to take their deer rifles away!

I have called both sides out on this in the past. It does absolutely no good to see only one side of any issue.

I would also like to point out that it has been a year since I've mentioned my political leanings on this forum. I took the election year off. Yes, I once worked for a Republican Congressman, but I'm currently employed (in absentia) by the lobbying wing of a non-partisan nuclear energy trade association. My current political feelings have less to do with pro-life/choice than with who's going to support the Yucca Mountain repository. Bush supports it, Kerry doesn't. I hope Bush wins. The end.

p.s. Iraq's wonderful. Wish you were here! (wish I was there)
