Yeah, I'm already working on my new garb for the faire. I have burgundy material for a bodice, but I don't know what color skirt too wear. I was thinking cream, but that wouldn't really be practical. Any suggestions? Oh, does anyone know where to purchase steel boning for the bodice? I can't seem to find it anywhere

what about brown or black? i actually wear a black bodice and a burgundy skirt split down the front with a black silk chemise with awesome bell type sleeves...i think it looks a bit on the mischevious side.

A darker blue or green goes well with burgundy. Though you have to watch it with green and burgundy or you'll end up looking too "christmas".

Black and brown are always great base colors.

Re: Boning for corsets - a friend of mine that makes corsets/bodicces, etc. as his hobby says that hacksaw blades (wrapped in tape, to avoid pokiness) work quite well for boning should you not be able to get/afford the steel spring boning. I have one with it in, am quite *ahem* endowed, and it does work well on holding up it's end of the deal. :)

Beyond that, I cant offer any more suggestions. :)
