 It is my unmovable belief that the underfunding of the WDPT indirectly led to the plane crash. These were big stars that were badly affected by not having at least 2nd class transportation. They had 3rd class, and suffered for it.
Richie Valens had a Top 10 hit ongoing, Buddy Holly had hit songs galore during the past couple of years, Big Bopper was big, Dion was big. The promoters knew the tour would be a sell-out success. Yet, 3rd class treatment through severe underfunding of the tour. The troupe did not deserve it, but they sure did get it.
