Interesting thread,…for me it’s hard to to beat that original groove of a much loved track by re-mastering, as the original is burnt into ones psyche!….there are a lot of 50/60s tracks/albums that are being re mastered etc , often without any improvement to the product…and really just another commercial outlet……

was listening recently to how ‘Mr Tambourine man ‘ by the Byrds was constructed by the Wrecking crew,..and how it evolved into the finished track……one of the best produced tracks ever in my opinion…hard to improve that track no matter what modern techniques were introduced.
