 There was a time when you could see a screen shot from the Everly's archive film if you searched "Buddy Holly Everly Brothers" in google images, but I don't see it anymore.

It's a photo of a smiling buddy with dark glasses, sitting in a car with his arm rested on the window.

I remember there was some debate on this forum when the photo first appeared. Some commenters here believed it was fake, that Buddy's head had been photoshopped on a different body. I disagreed. It's a basic screenshot of a longer home video filmed by the Everlys. It's not connected to the earlier home movie footage of Buddy and Jerry horsing around on the front lawn with their motorcycles. I believe the Everly home movies came a few months later.

I'd love to see all the footage, but someone here said the film is outrageously expensive to borrow. I hope someday it appears in a new documentary.

Funny thing about that screengrab, though. Buddy looks nothing like the ubiquitous and goofy "snapping fingers" photo. I believe most people (not obessive fans like us) wouldn't even recognize him as Buddy Holly. He's not as skinny. He looks like he's gained some weight and muscle.

Maybe someday we'll see the entire clip, but that seems unlikely, unless someone with deep pockets buys the rights to the whole thing. Paul McCartney, maybe?
