Bear in mind that with the exception of Sonny Curtis (who I believe is quite ill presently - get well, Sonny!), pretty much every musician who collaborated with Buddy Holly in the studio is now dead. Having said that; Albert Lee would most certainly be able to play the parts necessary. That doesn't mean that he should (or even would if asked). Adding musicians ruins the very fabric of the recordings that we've come to know and love - if it ain't broke, don't fix.

I certainly agree with enhancing the recordings to create a better listening experience though - Chris Hopkins is an absolute magician in my humble opinion. If Norman Petty were still alive, I am sure he would have been one of the first people to acquire the tech that Mr. Hopkins has used to restore the Buddy Holly & The Crickets catalogue for Rollercoaster Records.
