 I went to the Royal Albert Hall event on the 1964 tour, this was Saturday 4 July. I have a copy of the poster for the event, kindly given to me many years later by John Beecher, who was also there on that night. The bill toppers were Adam Faith and the Roulettes. P. J. Proby was also on the bill. The Crickets came on early because they had to go on to another gig.

After the Crickets had performed their set, I decided that as I had no interest in the other acts I would leave and go round to the stage door. There they were - Jerry, Sonny, Glen D. and Buzz Casson. I spoke to them and they all looked me in the eye and replied seriously. I was in some kind of heaven, couldn't believe it.

I have met the Crickets many times since and they have never disappointed me - modest, humble and respectful.
