 Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. It appears a number of people have the same thoughts. I'm pretty sure we have people in this group who spoke to family and friends over the years and this question would have been asked. Seeing those pictures of the final tour and the things we have all read IMO shows a guy who'd had enough and looked tired. It would be great to hear from people with ideas.
