Richard Porter, friend to many people on this board and a member of "The Poor Boys", a 1950's band from Odessa, could really use some prayers right now. He is currently in a hospital in intensive care while battling Covid-19.
In case you don't know Richard, he was Carl Bunch's best friend growing up and has served unofficially as a storyteller/historian of west Texas music for years. He is/was friends with many of the Clovis artists and according to Richard Porter and Tommy Allsup, Richard was at the Silver Saddle Club in Odessa that December night in 1958 when Buddy Holly asked Tommy Allsup to go on tour with him in the 1959 Winter Dance Party.
They don't come any nicer than Richard Porter. If you are so inclined, please lift him and his family in prayer at this time.
