Twas the night before Christmas and all through Steve's house
The music was playing Sam Cooke's in the house.

Steve's stocking was hung by the chimney with care
Motown was now playing and Smokey's in the air.

Kitty was nestled all snug in her bed
While visions of cat toys danced in her head.

I in Steve's sweatshirt Steve in sweatpants
We both climb the stairs forgetting our cares.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
Steve climbed out of bed to see Clyde McPhatter.

Steve went to the window pulled open the shade
He tried to see the noise that was made.
When what to his wondering eyes should Steve see
Sam Cooke, Marvin and Sinatra including Presley.

Dressed all in tuxedos from their head to their toes
They all had bright smiles they all had bright glows.
Sam sang You Send Me Marvin sang to
Sinatra and Elvis they joined in too.

Steve turned from the window and heard on the roof
The stomping and clomping of two big feet.
Then from the chimney there came such a noise
Steve went down the stairs and who should he meet?

From the chimney he came all covered in soot
Singing his songs and tapping his foot.
His voice was recognizable and Steve didn't need to look
For he knew in a moment it must be Sam Cooke.

Sam left some music for Steve to play
Then Sam looked at Steve and whistled away.
Steve looked outside and saw such a sight
Elvis was singing Oh Holy Night.

Then in a flash and off with a dash
Sam Cooke, Marvin, Sinatra and Elvis started to sing as they drove out of sight
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO STEVE, AND TO STEVE GOODNIGHT!
